I'm curious to know which babyface champs have defended their title at mania vs a heel defending it. In regards to wwe title like Cody holds, not the old wcw one or the one that gunther has.

I say this cuz i feel like the chase for a babyface like Cody last year is much better. Maybe cuz Cena a part timer. Tho I doubt they would have a full timer take the belt as a heel. It just doesn't hit the same if Cena wins the title other than for the record.

All in all though the build for this match was such a disappointment after last year’s main event. Just nothing but face to face promos? There was zero creative though put into this build.

The build to Mania 40 was the reason I started watching again after a decade hiatus. The press conference, Rock concert, Rock beating the hell out of Cody in the rain, Roman/Rock vs. Cody/Seth brawl on the go home show, and Bloodline promos were all memorable as hell.

The Rock made "The Final Boss" a beloved iteration of his character. Cena's heel turn is about as run of the mill as you can get.
