Tyga's only real lane is the DJ Mustard/ratchet club song, and while he does that sound quite well, it can't really be sustained for a whole full length project. When he inevitably veers off it, he falls apart because artistically he's flat and dry as fukk. The last album had incredible production, just great beats from almost start to finish, but those pseudo introspective type, moody/airy "Drake produced by 40" sounding sounds on the last one sunk it.
I saw Game say in an interview recently that Tyga is the West Coast's Fabolous right now in terms of his features and his club presence, (I assume he meant Fab of a few years ago, at least). And while it's true that neither can really hold down a great album (Fab's come closer but he's also had more tries), at least with Fabolous I've always felt like you could go back and get some ill punchlines and rhymes. Tyga is a shytty MC.
