Yeah, that would've been terrible. This is a great match, because Moxley and Lee have proven they can have good matches with each other. They can't have Moxley have two back to back trash matches in title defenses.

Show was great, though. That main event was some of the best wrasslefukkery I've seen in a while. Them ending it with the Inner Circle posing with the scoreboard in the back showing their logo was some fly shyt.

Brodie Lee has beat QT Marshall, Lee Johnson, Justin Law, & Marko Stunt. Next week he'll beat Christopher Daniels. He hasn't had a chance to establish himself or his group because of the rona having half their roster missing including his group. Brodie will have beat a jobber, 2 dudes you couldn't pick out of a lineup if they were wearing their own merch, someone who looks like a 14 year old kid, & the 3rd guy in another group.

Moxley gave a promo last week basically calling out anyone who wants to step up and challenge him...fast forward to this week, Brodie Lee stepped up to challenge him.
Not seeing where the issue is.
This isn't a real sport, it's a soap opera with playfighting and the current storyline is that the leader of the masked jobber cult that has been running around AEW since Day 1 attacked the world champ and now gets a title shot.
It doesn't matter whether Brodie Lee spent months rising up the ladder or if he just showed up yesterday. It's pro wrestling and the storyline is never predicated on won/loss records unless the decision is made to make the storyline predicated on won/loss records.
