That was just after Truth's heel turn and his match with Cena for the Title at Capitol Punishment, which then led into the whole Awesome Truth team up and story line, which then culminated at Survivor Series in a tag match vs The Rock and Cena. That run was probably one of his most memorable years. So I wouldn't say it was entirely derailed.
