I'm not gonna lie, I am not feeling all this NJPW stuff. I can't wait for it to be over and done with after this week.
Injuries aside, They dropped the ball like crazy. Still a ton of good-great matches they could’ve made :snoop:

Would’ve been a great way to showcase Wardlow vs someone tough even if its just someone like Goto or something.

Samoa Joe could have a great match with damn near anybody on the njpw roster.

They put the belts back on the Bucks but haven’t said anything about what they’re doing. Absolute foolishness to leave them off if so…

Shid at this point i’d take a toru yano comedy match vs someone. Orange Cassidy would’ve been a good fit but they gave him Ospreay, Which while it should be a good match makes no sense on paper.

It feels rushed like the opportunity arose out of nowhere on short notice and they felt it was too good to pass up so they just said we’ll make it work.

Comes at a bad time just a month after the last PPV then add the injuries on top of that, which to their credit the injuries isn’t something they could control.

I was excited at first, but with all the injuries and questionable booking I’m :manny: over it now. Maybe it’ll be better than expected.

Sounds like politics is getting in the way. Khan probably wants all of his guys to look strong and go over. NJPW is not about to allow themselves to be done like Impact was. Okada being protected right now is a tell tale sign of what’s happening behind the scenes

I think it's more the timing than anything. The mistake made was announcing this PPV happening 7 weeks out and only a month after one of their four major PPV's. For Okada specifically, I think his wife is due in August with their first child, which makes it difficult for him to be out of the country in case something happens.

To make up for all that's gone wrong, wouldn't surprise me if Wrestle Kingdom is co-promoted by AEW this year and some of the matches that were supposedly slated for Forbidden Door (Punk/Tanahashi, BD/Zach Sabre, Okada's match, Omega getting involved, Naito being involved, etc.) happen there.

You think they even wanna really deal with Omega? He said some stuff went down when he jumped to AEW but didnt want to get specific. Sounds like there were hard feelings

May have been with the person who was running NJPW when Omega left. Different person there now, hence why there's a working relationship between the companies.
