To me, the only thing holding him back is he came from All-Japan/W-1 ranks and not NJPW. He just got it. The athleticism, the look (no homo), the don't say shyt character. Hopefully, he gets a game-changing dub against Omega this G-1.

It's crazy to me that 8 years have passed since Sanada and Soya had that coming out series of matches against Sekimoto and Okabayashi. I would have never guessed Sanada would get to this level, dude seemed so fukking bland for the longest time. His talent in the ring and crispness was never in question, but he was so uncharismatic that it was hard picturing him having a big singles career.

I do wonder what his ceiling is with Gedo though. I've been wanting to see him return to All Japan to become Kento's n°1 rival for a while now.

It's the most interesting he's been in forever, I'd gladly take depressed Okada for a 6 month run leading to the Dome instead of him doing the typical G-1 comeback angle and winning this tournament.

Naito really just popped off in like 2015 and they missed each other in that year's G1 so not since then cause Naka left of course
