"I'm not a 12 round fighter. I'm 18 stone!!!"
Sadly this also shows the confusion in AJ.
The guy started out as a technical but still very aggressive pressure fighter, knocking everybody out
After the Wlad fight he took a more measured approach but he was still kind of his usual self until the first Ruiz fight
Then he leaned down and started to move and box more, became a lot more careful.
Then he came to the second Usky fight more aggressive again because trying to outbox him failed in the first one and now he is putting on weight again but without the aggression he had early in his career, basically fishing for big counter shots.
It seems like AJ is the kind of guy who is heavily effected by any loss he takes and after 3 of them he is all over the place about his identity in the ring, basically flip-flopping between approaches always based on his most recent loss. He's trying at least, he realizes he needs to improve he just can't find the way to improve and I suspect he won't ever at 33...
He can still be proud of himself, he was an Olympic gold medallist and even if not the best, one of the marquee heavyweights and biggest names of his generation. Not bad for a guy who started boxing 18
