Hitchins made it seem like like he signed on and Ortiz didnt want to fight, but now Ortiz is fighting Davis, when we coulda had Hitchins vs Davis

WTF IS THESE FOLKS DOING????

To me this screams Hitchins priced himself out
Hitchins talks alot..he needs to get things done and then start promoting himself after the signed situation.

Dude is the niext Boo Boo. Gonna coast fighting mandos nobody cares about then get brutally expose when he finally steps up, not because he sucks but because is being complacent.

The crazy thing is dudes wanna be Floyd so bad but literally ignore the times Floyd bet on himself to help gain legend. Boxing is a dangerous sport where you risk your life, but on the same side it is one of the most expensive sports to be a fan of so you can't be pissed when nobody wants to pay for anything you do.

not a bad undercard at all

i can do without the random saudi cat but its par for the course

miller vs ibeh is a decent little heavyweight opener...its been in a min since ive seen ibeh since he got ko'ed by jared anderson but i see he's been on a streak...plus of course he is a puncher and ill support anyone that has the tangibles to ko big baby..its always going to be fukk big baby..i dont think he's fought since the draw with ruiz.

adames vs ammo is a good fight...rooting for ammo to be champion...i refuse to believe patrick teixeira is the only one that can beat adames....its time for a changing of the guard

shu shu vs castro is another good fight. shu shu will get his bargaining chip (i.e title) but castro will prolly give him hell..castro got jobbed against nery and fulton..and gave young figgy some moments before he was stopped

keyshawn vs ortiz - good fight on paper but i can see this either being good or a dud or struggle..keyshawn has a lot of ground to make up due to his crashout; jamaine ortiz has a chance to give his career a big boost with a strong performance or upset

Blue Blood Sports TV just reported that it was Jermaine Ortiz's manager that backed out of the Hitchins fight because a title was on the line

Interesting

that makes zero sense unless it was related to the Rehydration of IBF but even then its dumb because Ortiz has zero leverage and is high risk low reward for anyone without a belt, and at least with a belt unifying cancels out the clause.

the other factor I can see is based on what Turki was paying he didnt want to deal with the Sanctioning fee hit

I think Ortiz's manager probably thinks it's a riskier fight with Hitchins than Keyshawn. Maybe they got more money fighting Keyshawn. It just seems like a crazy situation. I guess Hitchins is going to pivot to another fight

I think it could be a case of Turki saying hey this all im gonna pay you so he technically makes "more" vs Keyshawn since there is not sanctioning fee or it is less of a fee since the title isn't on the line (maybe still some fee as the fight impacts rankings).

NY taxes are insane so dudes probably mindful of "shyt if I`m gonna lose I rather take home as much as possible". But still Ortiz is one of them dudes always on Mill city crying about a chance at a championship thats why this looks stupid lol.

And imo if I`m turki I woulda kicked Ortiz to the curb and dud Keyshawn vs Richardson UNLESS he got Keyshawn at discount since he isn't a chanlp and this a comeback.

But yeah IMO Best fight for Richardson is Frank Martin because all the other champs are occupied in Jan/Feb.

Eddie Hearn mentioned this when they did a faceoff. Keyshawn vs Richardson is good enough to be it's own main event. And it would feel too rushed to pump up this fight when it's only 1 month until this card happens

I agree. Richardson vs Frank Martin is the fight to make, that would be a hella interesting fight. Got Richardson winning though

Thing is the Ring Cards are supposed to be spectacles imo. Keyshawn nor Hitchens are proven to sell a PPV, and Keyshawn hasn't really done anything outside of home (and being from where he is people in those cities aint got shyt else to do but to see a hometown fighter)

I think this would have been a good platform for both to potentially steal the show, thats why I`m leaning towards Budgets. Especially with Keyshawn having a clip floating of going to 147 he coulda potentially got a belt real quick and then bounced and had another division under his belt.

Richardson would have had a great platform he could then used the momentum to go to 147 and take advantage of a weak devision and line up his Mega fight with a Ryan or Devin depending where those cards fall.

Oh hell nah, quite the opposite. The NYC/NJ area has ALOT to do when it comes to sports. 2 MLB teams, 2 NFL teams, 3 Hockey teams, 2 NBA teams, Tennis US Open, a couple of minor league teams in every sport... That is alot LOL

I'd argue the reason Hitchins isn't well known is because he's from that area. Hard to dominate a Sports news cycle in that area. I think Zab Judah was probably the last Boxer to get real real notoriety with the casual public. Danny Jacobs was from Brooklyn, and never really reached height in popularity. Shakur, Hitchins, Shu Shu struggle to get that popularity in a crowded NYC/NJ market

Plus there's still fights for Hitchins to go after 140. Don't want him to go to 147 too soon

yeah I`m saying Keyshawn only did what he did in VA cause they aint shot ghit to do, while in NYC folks got other shyt to do on their weekend lol.

Being from the NYC area you gotta be a star in Boxing for folks to come out because Boxing is not a cheap thing to enjoy. TBH Richardson should have tapped into the Hatian thing and done some lower cost South Florida cards, and Shakur shoulda tapped in with the Houston connection + ATL in gunning to be the face of black boxing ( Shakur + Keyshawn cards in ATL could have done something also gettin Abdullah in there if my timelines aint off).

Im gonna be at this fight but I dont see this card selling like that outside of Boxing Purist especially since they aren't bigging up the fight in parallel via the Youtube circuit like Haneys and Normans did where that fight was seen as the real main event.

True that. Been to Norfolk VA for a comedy show once, it was kind of dead lol. You right Hitchins should have leaned into the Haitian market in Florida, rep it on social media, connect with Haitian rappers, etc. Shakur should be fighting in Houston more as well. It's all about marketing

Marketing in Boxing is so lacking these days. I been saying for the longest, Boxing needs to stop trying too hard to promote so broadly to casual fans. They need to cultivate fans who already watch Boxing, and get them to pay attention to every single boxing match. Make the current Boxing fans rabid diehards. That's how MMA got big. They cultivated their diehard fanbase, and the diehards promoted the sport to the casuals for them
