We did get old school Ace Tana

White vs Okada was good but all of it was thanks to Okada. It was awesome too see him have a short match and play a pure babyface so well. White's control section was appallingly bad 
kinda bummed they are trying to put over the Switchblade as a death move when that shyt has been driven to ground in the last decade.

Only time I thought he was compelling was in the Juice Robinson match from one of the US shows

Jay White just ain't cutting it. I've wanted him to succeed and I felt he might've turned the corner after the Juice match, but it just ain't there. I don't even know what his character is supposed to be...he just does a lot of meaningless generic heel shyt. But it always feels like he's just out there playing a wrestler. I can't buy into his persona.
And this would be alright if he was killing it in the ring, and while he's solid, he is nowhere near the level of all the other top guys. The last few minutes of the Okada match where fire, but that was all Okada.
Thought WK was very good though. A great example of how NJPW can make these long shows easy to watch because every match feels different. Only match I could've done without was the Jr tags, but it wasn't bad.
NYD was a real let down.
One thing is I feel like the company needs is some fresh talent. A couple of new faces in the midcard or main event would be nice. Things look a little stale going into the next few months.

They need an interpromotional feud badly.
Maybe bring in Kento Miyahara for an ace vs. Ace match? Politics would obviously get in the way.

As you did not mention the hangman feud and match.
I think you only watched the build to juice Robinson. Where he absolutely owned Robinson in promo/stsredown.
To workrate in the actual match.
The person who is huff is juice Robinson.
That is the person that should not even be on the card.
Switch blade got next easy.

A 1 on 1 match is almost impossible given the politics involved. But an All Japan feud would benefit both companies imo. New Japan will always end on top because they always do (King of Sports
) but it would help them get their younger talent over and AJPW would love the exposure. Akiyama would just have to make sure guys like Kento and Lee don't do any big jobs and they are pretty much set. That seems pretty impossible in the current puro hierarchy outside of a group of NJ talent leaving to form their own company and invading...
I disagree. New Japan can work with whoever they want in Japan. They always get the better of the feud so this time would be no different.
I pray to Terry Funk someone is able to convince them to do one during All Star Battle, Uncle Jun being the top priority.
