1 in 3 sounds high for people actually convicted and thrown in PRISON.

I would understand is it just was arrested or jailed, but this sounds a little off.

With that said, anybody who's paying attention in this country knows are justice system is fukked. We just gotta elect politicians that are actively fighting to change it.

In reality somethings will have to be tolerated because there are no solutions, only trade-offs. For example, it maybe true that low-income people are at a disadvantage when it comes to legal representation, but what is the alternative? Force everybody to use court-appointed public defenders, or have tax payers subsidize the price of expensive lawyers?

Fix the justice system so that you don't need a lawyer to be treated fairly.

It's all a farce, the shyt is overly complicated for the sole reason of forcing you to need money and a lawyer to fight it. It's not just a coincoincidence that you need a quality lawyer to get a fair shake.

Privatized prisons should be eliminate.

Take the money out of prsion.

Private citizens are buying prisons then putting pressure on local police to make arrests whether justly or unjustly so the prisons can fill up beds thereby receiving more money. Instead,prisons should be under the control of state and federal officials no private owners.

There's a profit in sending people to jail since a lot of prisons are privately owned by rich people.What this means is that any private citizen can by a prison then look for ways to fill beds. If the government or state officials took control of these prisons, you would see the incarceration rate drop immediately mainly because there's no profit in prisons.

Basically every president after Reagan wanted to out do Reagan and show that they were "tough on crime". Clinton implemented the law to where you're caught three times, you're done. First and second times you're branded, can't get a job because of your record, and if you can't get a job they'll put you back into corrections. You're not even eligible for safety nets such as food stamps and housing. Then if they catch you for the third time you serve an automatic life sentence. I dealt with this with my brother for like 15 years smh. He got out a year ago today. fukked up how his PO and the entire system set him up to fail. Literally lost the second father figure in my life because he was in the wrong place, at the wrong time, and the drugs wasn't even his. He was cooped up for years with violent offenders, like people who legit raped and killed. I don't know how he didn't lose his mind. That's why I hate the term thug and I hate black people who demonize "criminals" with a record, treating em like they ain't shyt. Most of em was in there for drug crimes and the three strikes rule. It's not like they have the support of their damn family.

The crazy part is, its going to hit whites eventually, because its always like this. shyt starts with us, and then it spreads to whites. Within 5-10 years, whites are going to realize the shyt they let happen to us, has turned around, and bit them in the ass. You see it now with hard drugs like heroin.

The saying "pride comes before the fall" is very real. I seen it firsthand over, and over.
