70 points is impressive, but it was overshadowed by the triple-double race of the most recent two seasons. There's easily 50+ triple doubles in winning efforts over the last 2 seasons that could rank higher than what Booker did.

Does this really need to be a thread?

Anyone can score 70 when your cheesing down 30+ and playing against backups.

No.... actually not everyone can....

he played against the starters and the Celtics were number 2 in the east, now towards the end yeah, but that doesn’t diminish the fact that he put in work

All facts tho. I'm far from a Mamba fan, but Kobe did it the right way. He wanted that W and the Lakers needed him to score a ridiculous amount of points to get it, so he did it. I guarantee you Kobe wouldn't be smiling ear to ear like an idiot after getting 70 in a comfortable loss like this soft chump Booker was. Kobe once had 62 after 3 quarters, Phil sat him, Kobe didn't say a word. Why? Because the Lakers had already secured the blowout win. Booker woulda thrown his tampon at the coach in that situation. That's why one is a legend and the other will be a trivia question in 15 years

What are you basing these statements on his personality? Do you have personal first hand knowledge of how he is, or speculating???

The man scored 70, he was happy, every ones going to react differently, regardless of the circumstances, Jesus everyone is not such a weirdo like Kobe to never want to celebrate or smile

Because he got it in such a manufactured way in a loss.

Just wasn't anywhere near as impressive as the truly great scoring performances like kobe's 81.

Manufacturered how ?? Looked like he went out there and took over the game, and tried to will his team to a win

nikkas just love to complain.

If someone is shooting that hit you keep feeding them until they cool off. That’s like Wilt never going for 100 because he cared about how it “looked”.

ive thought about this as well, this shyt doesnt get as much hype as it should, its a hell of an accomplishment

think about how many great players have played this game that haven't hit 70

it was shocking when it happened tbh, shyt was way too soon for him

A 19/20 yr old scoring 70 in an NBA game is impressive.

Fukk all the "Bu bu bu bu" shyt

And he wasn't playing against "backups" in that 4th Q.

The Celtics were actually trying to stop him by that point.

He just caught fire. And yeah, Earl Watson calling timeouts was cheap,

But Booker still delivered in that last quarter. The Boston fans were entertained and cheering him on

because he was on such a roll.
