Not too sure because the free games are boring and PS5 drops soon, when w new console is out I see having plus on the older generation as not a good move.

No, recently I hopped on my PS3 and my plus logo wasn't beside my username
Try restoring your license on the PS3. Heard that was a fix to the disappearing logo. PS3 and Vita were dropped from receiving free games last year.
Price hike might also happen next gen. If you're planning to game online and need the cloud saves you might as well reup when it's cheap.
