I find something about this incredibly sad.
Back in the day when I was a kid going outside and being active was where it's at. Whether it was throwing around a football, shooting hoops, playing baseball, skateboardjng, on bikes riding trails...etc. the only time we would be inside was if we were playing video games and somebody got the newest system.
Now this generation of kids doesn't do anything physical. Then they become adults that cant lift anything over 25 pounds. Or they are overweight or obese.
I still see a ton of kids playing sports/being active.
To me, the only difference between now and 20-30 years ago, is that kids are actively choosing to stay inside, versus that being imposed on them by their place in the social strata.
There were always kids that stayed inside back in the day, but it's because they were clowned or didn't fit in, so it was no reason for them to go out and take that psychological punishment. Nowadays, it's kids that actually fit in and have friends and they socialize online (facebook, chat, video games).
