I understand your point, but if I am doing time I am going to have that Andy Dufraine plan in my back pocket ready to go. It might not be as elaborate and as well thought out as Andy's but it will be more elaborate than an abandoned house across town. He would have been better off just going back and turning himself in. Best part is if the private jail business continues this kind of thing will happen more. There is no financial incentive to spend the extra money on durable building material when you're trying to maximize value for shareholders. Don't be shocked if prison escapes become more common.
