I want to travel more but im scared to go alone. :sadcam:, but I dont always have ppl to go with me.

Save $500 every year for the next 16 and you're good to go :manny:

And yeah, Traveling as a woman alone is a lot more dangerous than it is for men, so I can't really give much advice on that.

I want to accomplish a lot of things, mostly for other people and not for myself.
I just want to inspire people to do better and help people to do better.

I want to do this soooo bad but there are so many things that tug on my heart that makes it difficult to just pick one. I want to help every damn body:sadbron:
lol

who would your nonprofit cater to? Or what would it be about?

I lived in Nigeria for a year when I was in high school, and one of the biggest problems I saw with schools in rural areas was access to water. I would love to start an organization directed towards raising money to build wells for schools in remote areas of Nigeria. Only God knows if that will get its act together in terms of basic urban development for its people.:smh:

What are some of your ideas?

I went to NYC for the first time by myself, only knowing one person there. I ended up staying in Harlem. It was really fun. I'd do it again but like to other countries and shyt, :whoa:

I only went by myself because my friends aren't into museums or walking around like I am. While being lost down there, I kinda found myself at the same damn time haha.

I feel the same way. I've been reading blogs of solo women travelers, but they don't do enough to make me feel more secure about traveling alone. I don't really have friends who are as interested in traveling, so Idk what to do:manny: I go out alone in my city a lot, but it's not enough!

I love that idea!!:dwillhuh:

I have always wanted to start a nonprofit that caters to little girls, teen girls, young women, adult women, ect who grew up without their fathers. I would provide counseling, mentoring, and like a big sister little sister type of arrangement. My main focus would be healing the wounds of abandonment and getting the girls to see themselves as worthy of love, admiration, ect. To steer them away from boys, partying, ect. and get them focused on their education or whatever dreams they may have. I would just want to help them heal that void with positivity and constructiveness and help guide them into being all that they can be.

I grew up without my father so I know what it is like to basically have nobody on your side.

Depends on where you want to go, but I think you can get away with traveling a lot of western Europe by yourself, especially the more feminist countries, avoid Asia and Latin America. If you want to hit up the Caribbean, Cuba is probably the best bet as the government does not play.

I'd actually say do the Hostel thing, only in the high seasons though so that you're assured that the place will have other women in it. That way, you'll have a built in group of women you can hit up the town with.

Another Gold Medal
Off the top of my head..I definitely have more than 10 things I want to accomplish...

1. Get a PhD
2. Get married
3. Have children
4. Travel
5. Work for myself
6. Own a home in another country
7. Run races(marathons, triathlons, etc)
8. Live a more minimalist lifestyle (thanks BonitaChelz)
9. Nurture my relationships more
10. Start a non-profit organization of some sort

THIS x1000 After I moved out of Newark into another town I realize how bad those kids have it there. Me and a few of the guys from my old neighborhood are starting to save up some money to see if we can get a Rec Center type of thing done in the next year or two.
