Damn near everybody despised Hackenberg, myself included. I'm not gonna say I'm losing faith in Maccagnan, but I seriously hate that move.
Prescott looks good, I was already iffy on him. He's looked really good so far. As has Jacoby Brissett, who was the guy I preferred the Jets to draft

MacCagnan's on now. He sorta seemed to be wavering on carrying 4 QBs. With that and Bowles' comments yesterday about Geno, I really think if Petty plays well against the Giants Geno is out

Cut Geno and give hm a new start the media hates him in NY and jumps on him because he had one bad outing but Petty who is going against 3rd and 4rd corps is now the surpassed Geno who is going against 1st team and 2nd team offense, i mean the NY media hates him and it is clear as day allow Geno to go somewhere else
Considering Fitzpatricks a guy we'd want to replace sooner rather than later, there's really no point in carrying the worse of Geno/petty if neither are going to ever start.
FWIW, Francesa's watching practice now and he said Geno badly out-threw all the other guys in QB drills.

Dog the NY media hates Geno it doesn't make sense to argue who is more talented it is that the media kills Geno think about this Decker was hurt Geno's second yr so Kerley was Geno's best WR Geno's first two yrs and Kerley couldn't get on the field with the Jets last yr that much yet Geno is judged by those first two yrs so heavily.
Yeah, the team's practicing now so Mike is interviewing Lopresti. The well has been poisoned with Geno here it seems like. He's at odds with the media and won't talk to anyone because they sorta manipulated his comments after the anniversary of the IK punch.
The wildcard here is hackenbergs been so bad they try to get him on the PS. I can't see any team leaving him on their 53 right now with how awful he's been so far.
They'll never get Hack on the PS. You are right though, Lopresti said Hack's been awful and has a lot of work to do.
There's only two options IMO:
- cut/trade Geno: Go with Petty as backup
- cut Petty, try to sneak him onto the PS, keep Geno as backup.
The general consensus was Hack was way over drafted and some like pff had an undraftable mark on him. It would certainly look poor on Maccagnan, but he doesn't desvere a roster spot. I'd take the risk for the PS. Sounds like he's getting booed badly at practice today and looks lost again.
