8. The Miz
The Miz spent 2009 and 2010 improving his ring work, so when he finally captured the WWE Championship from Randy Orton, it was seen as a logical progression of his character arc. Unfortunately, he would soon emerge as one of the worst-booked WWE Champions in history, and that lack of credibility hurt his drawing power immensely.

As WWE Champion, Miz feuded with Randy Orton, Jerry Lawler, and John Cena. His programs with the latter two drew PPV numbers that were lower than shows from previous years, and while his WrestleMania main event with John Cena was a success, that was due primarily to the return of The Rock. Rock versus Cena became the hot story, and Miz was merely an afterthought.

Post-WrestleMania, Miz only got one more shot at the main event. At Extreme Rules, he, John Morrison, and John Cena battled in a triple threat cage match, with Cena capturing the WWE Championship. After that, Miz would never reign as WWE Champion again.

Spoiler: TL;DR

Orton's last reign wasn't a push though...they were in a holding pattern during the worst time of year to get to wrestlemania and give the belt to Daniel Bryan. HE was the draw at the time as the person chasing the belt. Big show as a main event we is evidence that they were just punting until rumble.

He went into and out of mania 24 champ: million+ buys
He went into mania xxv in the hottest fued...biggest gate ever

I mean, orton is proven, there is no debate...that was an angle where he basically had to heel it up and deny the fans what they wanted (Daniel Bryan) to get MORE MONEY out of them in april

Even Orton switched up his act when he came back

That's... actually a good list

I'm not sure Miz should be even mentioned though, considering that - as the article says - he was more of an after thought his whole reign. His program with Lawler wasn't driving the show and house show numbers went way up during that periods because Rock "came back", I remember reading that after he was revealed as the host of Wrestlemania house show attendance was up significantly almost instantly. And Miz feud with Cena was completely overshadowed by Rock. I wouldn't blame him or give him credit for any number during that time to be honest.

this list is unnecessary because technically outside of austin, rock and cena no one has drawn in the last 18 years period. maybe you could throw brock in there but that's it.

Actually Brock hasn't drawn much for WWE, not in a meaningful way at least.
