But.... that was just the blueprint
What a journey it's been so far with Lupe Da Gawd
The evolution has been crazy and quite a ride to see on the train with the window seat.

From the rhyming ghetto streets of chi-town to the politically conscious metaphorical MC to a black man who made his FNF money off of drugs but now off of all of that and in art museums pushing the boundaries of lyricism and metaphors with the sickest of flows.

From hanging out with drug kingpins and killers to being a regular in cornell west circles.

It was just the blueprint

LLupe tha god old shyt was dope just becuase he rhymed on better beats. And i agree that his last two project werent to my liking becuase the beat selection was shaky even though his hooks and refrains where better. Still copped and supported.

But i agree with Lupe that his new shyt is on some really high level of lyrical ability. Like the complexity of his new shyt is something that needs deep thought to get and constant rewinding.

I fukks with a rhyming ape so heavy

That shyt got me through this 400 level Soc class I was taking senior year, while taking 22 credits, and pledging folks. Super sleepless nights.

That album is the reason why the Gorillaz are one of my favorite artists/bands ever. I immediately hit youtube or whatever download program I had and copped everything of theirs. Just sat back amazed like "Yo these cats are dope as shyt." Haven't looked back since.

Thank you Lupe!
