i bought sleepers then chitlin circuit 1.5 off the strength of allhiphop reviews (:whew: so long ago)

but yall wouldn't believe how long i was obsessed with Little Brother, huge fan from when i was like 14-18. i still never got a chance to see em live :deadrose:

that was back in the day where you would replay shyt over and over and over again. i didn't cop the listening until way late because back then, if i couldn't find it in a store i wouldn't ever hear it. also the era where i was more selective and picky about what my ears would tolerate (i softened up too much :snoop:)

the listening taking the internet my storm, all their affiliates getting put on, chitlin circuit 1.5, sleepers, the drama mixtape, the almost "blowing up" of minstrel show and the BET bullshyt, and justus for all, the mostly 9th wonder-less getback selling like 20000 copies first week, the foreign exchange piff, leftback, the phonte solo, and now big pooh's solos

they had a hell of a run, a wonderful fukking run :salute:

and a pretty long one if you think about it. i still haven't heard leftback. part of me is too lazy, and part of me too nostalgic to end the era

i don't play little brother too much nowadays cause the 2010-2013 era got too much shyt going on music wise, but when i do get time to revisit, i could lose hours in it

matter of fact i might do that today :smugbiden:

also my bad i forgot it was a listening appreciation thread, and not an LB appreciation thread. i forgot while i was getting nostalgic typing this shyt up :pachaha:

also this thread has been done to death before so i'll just say it as a sidenote, phonte is in my top 5 all-time :birdman:

and 10 years later i still never heard it

fuk that homo country college boi music

9th wonder beats is soft and nervous

phonte rhymes is soundin like a high-school guidance counselr trying to drop jewelz

big pooh is a known DL brutha

It's funny that Pooh is a "known" DL brotha. Known to who? None of us knew this. We in here talking about classic hip hop and u come in here like a gay Al Roker updating nikkas on the "gay world news from the underground". Seems only a faq would know about this DL gay stuff. You gay.

Ok brehs, now that I have sent this homo Bryant Gumble back to the arms of his nikka...... Continue on with our real Man talk.....

This Classic piff that is The Listening

Pastebin link in my profile with all the JL Mixtapes I had. @illadope @White Mike @Todd McPiff

Also, @MustafaSTL, link to The Listening is in my profile as well.

All Zippyshare links. First 3 Just Us tapes were double discs, but I had to split Vol. 3 up because both discs together were too big top upload. You're welcome.

pos rep and dap.

I found some stuff fellas. I'll upload more after work.

I got into Little Brother off the strength of those Black Album Rejects. Then I copped the Chitlin circuit then sleepers. After that I was hooked. The Ministrel Show was piff to me. To bad BET and the powers that be never gave them a shot.

Sometime in 02' one of my boys went down to NC with a friend of his who was trying to manage LB and he came home with a cassette of songs from The Listening. At the time I had no idea who they were but you hear you could tell they had something special. Fast forward a year or so later I copped the CD off hiphopsite or one of those online shops. Great album from one of the best groups of all time.
