Schools have standards that need to be upheld to function. I'm not super authoritarian but yeah, if you're going to go to a school that has a dress code you better follow it.

Leave the sloppiness for the weekend/the street.

went to HS just when the county switched to uniforms, so I can somewhat understand the stupidity and inconsistency of the administration/school board on the uniform code

If you're going to a public school at no cost to your family, the least you should be able to do is wear the uniform as assigned. If you want to wear pink socks, save it until after school. People who pay for education don't have issues following uniform guidelines so why should people going to school for free be allowed to wear what they want IF there is a uniform policy in place?

so..... taking kids out of school for sock colors is BETTER for their education?

shouldn't we be more concerned with math and science test scores?

:ehh:
i digs, i dig.....

but check it... aint this a public school? most students are on reduced lunch, so if theyre gonna be hard on a uniform policy they should at least provide students with a proper uniform.

second, you shouldnt remove them from the learning process. for some of them, nothing would make them happier than to have a two day vacation. :comeon: naw lil nikka u staying here til 5 today since you cant get your uniform right

3rd, this is a black school. with a black prinicipal. :comeon: you got bigger issues to fry than worry about uniforms. how about you worry about getting more up to date books? this is one of the many reasons why our education system is shytted on by other states.

trippin over small shyt when Mobile already has a 45% graduation rate:damndamndamn:

Uniforms are mainly used as an excuse for a school board to window dress for the most part, they don't actually do anything to improve education

fukk a uniform, i grew up in texas with one of the worst school systems in the country. so many more things need to be addressed before uniforms become important.

Although rules should be strictly enforced. Taking kids out of school is never a good idea. He should have made them write a report about the importance or history of school uniforms. Of he should have had them write about why they chose to disobey the rules. He could have taken some privileges from them like after school activities or assemblies. Sending them home hurts their education and gives them a chance to get involved in more fukkery.

We gotta start looking at these things realistically as opposed to adhering to old outdated principles and standards.
