this is not a job that is selective and can hire who they want. and if its SO IMPORTANT, MENTIONING JOBS AND WHATEVER, WHY DONT COLLEGES, WHOSE SOLE PURPOSE IS TO PREPARE STUDENTS FOR PROFESSIONAL CAREERS, WHY DONT THEY REQUIRE THEM?

The college & high school dynamic are 2 completely different things. I'm not saying that HS students MUST wear uniforms. I'm saying that if u go to a school with a dress code. Why deliberatly buck the system? Parents can enroll their children in any school they want. The parents could have sent their kids to a school with no dress code right?

In the south, only the schools in the poor and disenfranchised areas impose these "rules"

I know its wrong but im so sick of seeing my fellow black men with their pants around their knees i'm willing to let that slide in a school just to kill the fad.

I still dont support the law fining them tho. But If I run a school you aint walking through them doors with your pants below ya ass. fukk your rights!

I didn't have uniforms in high school. My principal said that she didn't want to treat the students like robots

The students at the poorest schools need the most discipline and structure. How can you develop an efficient learning environment if the children won't even follow simple rules like wearing your uniform?

I understand your line of thinking, however, can we honestly say that uniforms have dissuaded bad behavior in inner city schools? I think not.

Let just be reality...This is a social issue that we currently have no answers for and there is no type of rule that the school can enforce that will improve the situation...

At least in my opinion....

Dress code is the dress code no matter what setting its in. Many of us have dress and groomin codes/rules for work. Should we just say "fucc it" and wear whatever the hell we want? Should the branch manager at a bank be able to show up at work one day and say "fucc this suit, I'm rockin my J's, Trues, jean vest, t-shirt & snapback today at work?" :mindbllown:

Hell no, he shouldn't do that shyt! The manager can't say "hey, its no big deal, what does it batter" Nyggaz get denied gettin into the club for not dressing properly. MY high school had a dress code and please believe that I've seen hella people get detention, sent home or suspended for continuous dress code and grooming infractions. Parents signed compliance forms in the handbook at the beginning of each year. Parents and kids know the rules. But nyggaz just like buckin the sytem and get mad when they get suspended :mindblown:

Not sure if you went to public or private school. I went to a public school with no dress code so I'm curious. What purpose do you think the dress code really served? Did it turn around the behavior of kids who were there for :pachaha: :heh: :demonic: behavior or did they just continue being disruptive. I just don't see the purpose a dress code really serves.

My biggest problem with this story is, you will NEVER hear of a white school suspending 100 kids for ANY reason. If the principal of a white school felt like he had a problem with 100 of his kids he's gonna find a solution for the problem, not just send the kids home. The parents wouldn't accept any less. Let a story like this come out about white kids and white folks would be up in arms. But when it comes to us not only do we a accept it we defend it. People in here talmbout the kids deserved it. It's like white people have convinced us that we deserve less.

Public school was created for the sole purpose of taking kids beyond what their own parents can teach them. When public school was first instituted most Americans were uneducated farmers and laborers. Public school tought the kids more than they could learn in the fields with their parents. Now in 2013 white folks have convinced us that's not the purpose of school. They put out a study saying educational achievement is related to parental involvement, now they can blame the failings of black schools on the parents, all while giving their own kids all the resources and opportunities in the world. But Our kids don't deserve the same resources and opportunities cause their parents are poor and uneducated. This shyt is sickening. And the worst part of this is they convinced black folks that the inequality is somehow fair. This shyt is dispicable and black people need to wake up and see what's really going on here.
