Viacom just didn't destroy BET....they destroyed MTV & VH1 too.
MTV done turnt into a station with corny cac teen dramas and VH1 is ratchet central with the love & hip-hop fukkery
I fukks with Centric even though its not great. I really don't watch Fuse and I don't get Revolt/MTV Jams. It really don't matter because I have youtube and the internet now for music, videos and programming.
But theres people like my mother who love music thats still used to the old way. She always ask me why they don't show videos no more and I just tell her times are changing.
I agree,
What they did to BET effects us more becuase it was our goto station first.
What they did to MTV and VH1 is just as worse if not more. Who would have known a channel that was originally known for playing music is now known as a realty tv channel that occasionally play old re-run movies.
MTV Jams and VH-1 Soul was only good during 2000-2005. They used to play old school videos around the clock all the time, they might throw in a new video but was not thrown in our face compared to BET and MTV.
If you watch these channels now, you can watch an artist video of today at least 3-4 times within the same hour block.
They don't understand.
That's why nobody listens to modern radio stations and stick to oldie stations because no ones wants to listen to the same song on the radio 3-4 times within the same hour block.
BET J was decent, and did what BET stopped doing, playing other genres of black music. Especially artists that were starting to get their name out. Now if you watch the channel they they hardly play old school videos or any other genre of black music but R&B and Hip-Hop.
BET messed up when they started to only cater to Hip-Hop and R&B music.
Older age groups left, all the children stayed.
On the other hand, the quality of music has gone down hill compared to other generations.
I feel sorry for these 90's and 00's babies.
When they wake up and get ready for their day, they play the same song they were told, they get in they car they play the same song, they get to work, school or whatever and play the same song, they get home and turn on the tv, it's the same damn song, they goto the club and it's the same damn song again.
Diversify ya bonds nikkas.
106 & Park feel off when AJ & Free left, also when the audience went from young adults to pre teens.
