The last year of my "Grown kid" yrs i was 22 years old. The very next yr 9/11 happened and I spent the next 6 Mos getting ready for the Iraq war and shyt got kinda real from then on

East Coast was dominating, but the West Coast had a huge resurgence. But the South was ready to kick the door in. Midwest even got some shine.
R&B was starting the transition into singing over rap beats during this time.
The videos seemed so sleek and futuristic.
Everybody got a chance to eat and things seemed so positive, hopeful and collaborative.
Then 9/11 happened and hip hops brief era of good feelings was over.
