But they just gotta mainly delivery big in the ring. Which I’m fairly sure they will do.

Stories really matter big time in companies or situations where the same guys are wrestling again for like the 100th + time.

Like when I see the same guys fight again and again…. In a relatively short period…. Why again do I want to see this and what will make it different?

Yes those situations need storylines pretty badly to somehow make it “fresh”

Depends on what you’re looking for…. And presentation matters.

Lucha Underground was a presented as TV show and they did best what certain companies try sooooo hard at or want to be great at so bad … but been failing for decades.

NJPW presentation is more real sports natured, everything is in the ring and the announcers are excellent at narrating what’s going on they don’t need backstage skits, acting and everyone kicking promo’s before matches. Hell they have like 1-2 promos per show and it doesn’t take away from nothing cuz everything in the ring is typically so good.

Those are 2 extremes and some companies lean more towards one extreme or the other.

Me…. I like the NJPW direction or shyt that leans there.

If I wanna see “acting” I think there are plenty of movies and series that hit that mark.

At this day in time….. 20+ minute in ring promos or back stage skits are exhausting.

Have a great match and let the commentary team fill in the blanks to tell a bulk of the story with some of the occasional shyt.

Like for real, Avatar was the highest grossing movie of all time. But even you can name like 100s of other movies way better than it that you enjoyed that probably didn’t make a quarter of what they “drew”

McDonalds is the biggest and most successful restaurant or food establishment in the world, but there is NOTHING at McDonalds that’s the best.

Like what y’all be doing sometimes is like saying the Big Mac and Quarter Pounders are the best burgers in the world, just cuz that chain is #1 and they got the most exposure/access. We know it don’t always work like that.

LU was pretty much cancelled due to budget, hell that Channel doesn’t even exist no more. NJPW is on a channel that no one really knows about or has. Like outside of DirecTV, I don’t know what stations have AXS. I’ve had like 4 different cable sources over the last decade (currently with YouTube TV) and only 1 has had Axs

But just cuz masses miss out on it don’t necessarily mean it’s a bad and just cuz more people watch this other thing don’t mean it’s great or the best.

AEW is a young company and I think everyone needs to let them grow and make their gains and mistakes at their own rate and stop having crazy expectations and over criticism over every little thing or writing them off everytime they don’t like 1 or 2 things.

Also things today don’t work they same way they 20 years ago and AEW too much gets judged off how things was done in the 90s

Actually one of the bright spots of La Nariz rn is him bringing back importance of the IC/US belts. TNAEW is the opposite with their participation championships and meaningless heat less defenses. A true alternative

That’s fair… but that’s the point of all businesses

And that means so much when you’re in said business, but we not though. We just spectators

Plus we as fan’s not even consistent with even judging that as the goalpost constantly moves depending on the agenda.

Evidently Danhausen draws money but many of y’all hate him.

Oh also, technically there are wrestling Oscars/Grammys with those PWI awards…. But again some people only think they legit when the wrestlers they hate don’t get chosen #1 and the ones the love do
