Neither did I but the way they turned Sammy into indestructible size XS Hulk Hogan was a horrible way for it to go.
If dude is that injured then he pulls out the win with some last minute shyt like a roll up or something. Instead they had a guy who was a millisecond from having a medical stoppage basically bully his way to the win.

Main event was a little too much dumb flippy shyt for my tastes and it was all on Sammy

Tremendous fukking show though. It set up a ton of shyt I'm actually interested in seeing. Haven't felt like that watching wrestling in forever, I can't believe the feeling is actually being restored

Technically, you could work it like Nakamura's counter armbar spot, but that wasn't what Sammy did.

It looked fake as hell, to be honest.

Yeah, when you lock in a cross arm-breaker you can at least sell the idea you "blocked" some of the impact by catching the arm and lock in the submission.

Sammy used the impact of the clothesline (like a minute after crashing through a table from the top rope to the fukking floor) to flip through and get a kick in

The injured ribs, no sell the table bump, clothesline flip matrix reversal and then wins clean.

Y'all really thought Lethal was coming in and winning the title in his first match against one of the pillars?

If a completely healthy Sammy won that would be one thing, but a badly injured Sammy who had the doc ready to stop the match twice and who flew thru a table from the top ropes still winning buries the hell out of Lethal

Then don't do the table spot or do it earlier it's not like it added anything meaningful to the match. Sammy can do a bunch of impressive shyt that will get a big pop that doesn't involve him crashing through a table and not having to sell it

In all seriousness, Jay Lethal was a great signing. He can teach the younger guys how to work a safer flippy style, how to talk, and how to tell a proper story in the ring.
