Beterbiev is quietly having to serve a PEDS suspension atm though, he is out of the equation for any fights, in the short term at least.
Yeah you've changed my tune on this tbh, he wants to stay active and chase belts, he's not getting that at 185 really for a minute, the other factor at play here is everyone is suggesting Bivol just walks into that fight, but who is to say he wouldn't duck Benavidez?

At 200 he has a huge payday (the biggest of his career), and another difficult fight against Zurdo, albeit a better match up for his style than Bivol or Beterbiev.

It just doesn't look good, given the propensity for fans and critics to argue the duck.

You fell into their trap lol. Beterbiev was originally supposed to be on last night's card. He was ready to go for November

Benavidez was literally calling out Beterbiev and Bivol A WEEK AGO on the Ring Podcast. Now all of a sudden change of plans I want Zurdo :russ: :dead: . He never wanted to fight those two

And how convenient. Zurdo's next fight against a tune up gets announced, literally hours after Benavidez's post fight interview that he wants to face Zurdo

I repeat, Benavidez never wanted to fight those two hall of fame Russians. He just wanted to keep his name in a news cycle that he's "willing to fight anybody" without actually doing anything. And Benavidez is cool to me, but we gotta call a spade a spade :manny:

Yeah you might be right, but atm Bivol isn't fighting Benavidez anytime soon (as per injury and layoff, and maybe even Alishikh alluding Bivol turned the fight down), and Beterbiev is banned currently from fighting, period.

So not sure how this affects your X-files mystery case right now.

"Hey David, would you ever fight Bivol or Beterbiev?"

"Bu bu Turki wants to make the fight in Saudi Arabia, but I'm a Vegas fighter, and all my fans are over here"

Then eventually fights in Saudi against Anthony Yarde :dead:

Dude obviously wants NO part of beterbiev and anybody can see that. He's supposed to be all about legacy and he chose to fight yarde over a hall of famer in beterbiev :mjlol: .....he knew turk was gonna start applying pressure for that beterbiev fight if bivol wasn't ready. There was no option left. And if he's really chasing greatness then why not move up and fight the number 1 ranked ring champion?.....David is full of shyt. This will now be 3 trash fights in a row.

He even said that if turki wanted beterbiev next that he was gonna be ready for it. It was painfully obvious that turk was trying to line him up for beterbiev next. There would be no other reason to put them on the same card. David rejected it. So turk put them on the same card to build hype and force him into a corner. So what does David do?....he sneakily makes another fight behind the scenes and announces it before turk has a chance to make it happen :mjlol: ....he didn't even want to be asked about it in the post fight interview. He got straight into that announcement :dead: .....David been moving funny his whole career and this is just another example.

But David has a history of not wanting to fight guys when they don't have a belt. He did the same to Caleb plant. Caleb would literally chase him around begging for a fight and David kept telling him to get a belt first :mjlol:

That's why anybody feeling sorry for this retard in regards to the canelo situation is a dumbass. David has always been an entitled clown. He got gifted a belt TWICE by the wbc and then used it as leverage to avoid all of his peers at 168. Turned down top contenders cause they didn't have a title, then canelo did the same exact thing to him and he spiraled into a cokeboy rage for years :dead:

And now he's doing the same thing to beterbiev. He's the same spoiled brat he's always been. He's gonna hold that title hostage and run to cruiserweight until beterbiev is completely out of the picture or shows clear signs of being washed up.

Thank you!

Him immediately cutting off questions in the post fight interview so they couldn't ask him about Beterbiev or Bivol to say he's fighting Zurdo was so telling :dead: :dead:

Benavidez is cool with me, but nah you not gonna clout chase off of my two of my favorite fighters Bivol and Beterbiev and think you can come out as the "boogeyman". fukk that lol. This is unfortunately what alot of new age fighters do. Just promote themselves as the boogeyman that now one wants to face. And 1 by 1 they always get exposed eventually. Not facing Beterbiev when Turki really wanted that fight because "Oh he doesn't have a belt" is a blatant duck, IDGAF what anyone says

Now hold up...he been saying he wanted Bivol next or he would try to go up to fight Zurdo at Crusierweight. Been saying it for a minute. Bivol is OUT and not coming back to early 2026 and he not jumping right in with Benavidez. That's crazy.

According to Benavidez he already ducked him. He wanted the yarde fight to be the bivol fight. Have to feel for David that he's been so avoided by the heavy hitters.

This appears to be a situation where Benavidez timeline at 175 doesn’t align with the current state of the division, so he’s moving on.

Seems like this was always going to be a very short stay. He now wants the hell out of that division and to get to CW.

Gotta be hard to make weight. Just imagine what this guy may look like after his career is over. He might be on some “Naseem Hamed” shyt.

He’s ready to become an immediate player at a more comfortable division.

He most likely beats Zurdo but that should be the end of the line, he's not beating Opetaia. So the only thing he's getting out of this move is the bragging rights to say he won titles at CW. Fair enough but Zurdo holding 2 belts tells you the story about how good the division is now...
And for the bolded part, if I know it right he used to be a fat kid who started boxing as a means to lose weight so it would be ironic if he'd balloon up after his retirement.

How is fighting Gzodyk (sp?), Merrell and Yarde 3 trash fights? Man sounds like pure hate and not even valid critiques.

So you reinforced what I posted, that Turki after the fight said he was going to make the 2nd fight. So you again reinforced that the 3rd fight was going to happen even if Beterbiev didn't want to do it initially. Beterbiev himself has said that he was waiting on the 3rd fight later on and accused Bivol of stalling a few months ago when he went for surgery. Benavidez himself said Turki didn't offer him Beterbiev. What reason does he have to lie? We already have precedent of Turki telling Bivol not to take the Benavidez fight. Why? Because he wants to conclude the trilogy. The Beterbiev fight was going to be a stay busy, similar to the fight Bivol took against Zinad when Beterbiev was injured. I'm not sure why you're so obsessed with "ducking". shyt is casual-like. I gave you examples of people saying similar shyt accusing Bivol and Beterbiev of ducking each other over the past 5 years. It's just a goofy conversation.
Both sides are making interesting arguments but the fact that Benavidez just headlined a Turki Saudi card doesn't really align with the idea that Benavidez rejected a bout Turki really wanted. The idea that Turki pushed for a Benavidez v Beterbiev fight, got told no, and decided to still reward Benavidez with a check and headline status to fight Yarde doesn't really match with how we've seen Turki move and respond to not getting what he wants
And is there any evidence of Beterbiev calling Benavidez out?

also this article suggests that both Bivol and Beterbiev wanted the 3rd fight. They want it so bad they requested to have it promoted and paid for by someone willing to host it in Russia. This definitely does not sound like a situation where Benevidez can just inject himself now

The Dmitry Bivol-Artur Beterbiev trilogy fight for the Ring Magazine light heavyweight championship was on the Riyadh Season schedule for November, The Ring has learned.

However, fellow Russians Bivol and Beterbiev both asked Turki Alalshikh to hold the fight in Russia with different organizers, and he gave his blessing Alalshikh said afterward he would finalize the trilogy later this year; both fights took place in Riyadh. And now those plans have changed as Bivol and Beterbiev seek to hold the fight in Russia after an organizer promised them lucrative paydays, sources said.
