You're blurring the lines. Non-kayfabe, Trips has been one of the biggest, if not the biggest, voice behind the youth movement. NXT is his baby and he's always trying to make it bigger and showcases it whenever he can, even giving it ppvs. Kayfabe wise, TNA won't even be acknowledged, and Trips is trying to push one the youngest, most promising stars on the roster in Rollins. Either way, it doesn't fit the "won't let you repeat WCW" narrative.
