Nah..they didn't really chant Austin when Rock was in trouble. They kept chanting Rocky and just got heat..Austin wouldn't take the beat downs like the Rock would so when he got in trouble..the fans chanted for the next Alpha. This happened SEVERAL times during the NwO storyline, when Bossman and Booker came at Austin, etc.

We're talking about different timelines because in 2000 they were BEGGING austin to save rock..the whole buildup to backlash was whether austin would return to save the rock
