Ennis is extremely talented and his boxing style is slick, flashy, and fan appealing. His die hard fans especially from his hometown think he already the greatest and can beat anyone in particular Bud Crawford. That rubs some of the boxing purists and critics the wrong way because they feel Jaron hasn't really challenged himself. Also they will point out how the 147 pound division wasn't as competitive once some of the more established fighters moved up or retired.
Now that Ennis moved up a weight class and is in a more competitive division people feel they can access his talent better. He's a good fighter but is he's a once in a lifetime generational talent that deserves to be consider in the same vein as the all time boxing greats is yet to be determined.
I'll always appreciate seeing Coach Shields in someone's corner. A lot of youngins down here don't understand what he means to H-Town boxing.
