Circumstance. Remember he was a HOT prospect and Charlo at the time was being heavily slept on, but he was in the way. Fight was close to even odds and wasn’t til after that Charlo was then seen as the guy. A title could’ve meant another big payday or two but he probably would’ve been retired earlier. Btw I also thought Charlo was gonna beat Tszyu.

And you say Charlo was unproven. Lubin was the one who was unproven. Lubin had some highlight reel knockouts but only faced like 2 fighters with a pulse. Charlo was already coming off a great stoppage win against John David Jackson when he was the underdog

Everyone wants to rush a "Hot Prospect". Everyone ain't gonna be Mike Tyson or Zab Judah winning titles early. You got Moses Itauma now the new "hot prospect", with everyone saying he should fight Usyk of all people lol. Great payday for Itauma right? So what. Frank Warren is smart to hold back all those goofy media reporters rushing him to get slaughtered

Boots is more talented and dynamic but he hasn’t really shown he can deal with pressure from a really good fighter. Fighters protecting their zeros leads to a short career at the top. Boots can beat all these guys but his team don’t believe in him like that. The way we criticized Floyd seems very unjust now watching Boots. He is no where near Spence level even.
He's basically dropped anybody who has ever pressured him. Thats why this fight was intriguing. He wont be running. The question is what happens if Ortiz does the same stuff he did last night...how would he not get knocked out by Boots?

Now all of a sudden they're talking about Spence. Wtf :dead: .....I told y'all they don't really want it. It's obvious as hell. He ducked bud the same way. It was so strange how Oscar, Robert, and Virgil all released videos the same exact day saying boots was scared and was gonna duck. Now that boots got in the ring and let em know they can even bet purse money, now they gotta find a new angle. Oscar gonna demand something crazy like 65-35

I just love how everyone thinks Boots is a Slick Black Fighter and will "box circles around Vergil Ortiz" :mjlol:

Boots only pretends to fight like Roy Jones Jr against lesser competition. Anytime he steps up his level of competition he reverts back to being a typical Philly fighter, banging on the inside and getting caught clean with leaky defense. Stanionis, Avenysan, Karen, etc. He loses alot of exchanges on the inside. Happens every time without fail

Yeah... When is time to fight, it's time to fight. Waiting any longer fukks everything up.
You're right and for example Bud wouldn't be where he is today had he fought Spence when the time was right :sas2: . Yaĺl don't be in here trying to twist shyt either.

Yep the bold is where I see a problem, son be wide open for counters sometimes, could be lack of focus, I don't know. Only other issue I see is that he tends to throw uppercuts (and sometimes miss) from long ranges and hasn't been made to pay for those yet.

In that same fight you mentioned Ortiz getting dropped, he made some adjustments during that fight switching to a totally different style and got his own stoppage I believe, have to give breh some credit there, he has some gears/different levels. We have not seen that yet with Boots.

Seems like Oscar is saying don't duck and price us out of the fight with a bogus offer.

Ortiz and Spence are cool outside of the ring. Ortiz recently said he didn't want to fight this version of Spence/changin his tune from before. So I don't see that happening unless Spence was looking for a payday:manny:

Virgil just said his first pick for a cowboy stadium fight would be Spence :mjlol: .....the whole team is now bringing up Spence's name out of nowhere. They're trying to lay the ground work. Spence shouldn't even be on the table. He hasn't fought in over 2 years and the last time he did he took a life altering beating. This fight would be a joke. People clowning boots resume but the truth is Virgil's opposition hasn't been much better.

Only fight virgil should be making if it isnt boots is really the fundora/thurman winner so the boots fight can be for a title and they can prob put the ring belt om the line too if fundora beats thurman

@Knicksman20

This is what our favorite fighter said

"I want to shut up all the people that keep talking online"
"I heard rumors that the Vergil camp didn't want me to come to the stadium"
"Eddie, anything else you need me to sign, let me know"

Aight Boots Andrade, talk that shyt!!! :damn:
He sounded so awkward & forced. Needs media lessons for shyt talking lol

there's only that 1 fighter that was in the mix that never really ascended for some reason even when they shown flashes of brilliance...the last fighter i felt that way about was andre dirrell,....now its lubin...and it sucks because he's only 30 years old..he's a young OG in the game...i hope he has an exit plan because being a world champion is not in his cards anymore...not with that compromised punch resistance.
I think Lubin stayed at 54 for too long as well. That for damn sure didn't help his punch resistance
