Yeah, this ain't like the 20s, 30s, 40s, 60s, etc where you could escape prison and really disappear. With cameras everywhere, social media, etc, you won't be free for long.

Plenty of small towns in these states with terrible surveillance

But you gotta have actual survival skills and an adaptable mind state to pull that off

All of these guys are slow, they got no chance, they walking around the biggest and most advanced city in the state

You forgot about the big ass knives that inmates carry and will use. Southern prisons have big ass flying roaches. Grown men being bullied into handwashing another mans underwear. Hearing grown men cry themselves to sleep. Very demonic place.
