I don't think it's that crazy. Superstar player trades rarely result in the team getting an elite player back, so KAT might still be the best they can get. They don't own their draft picks for the next few years so they probably won't be able to rebuild if they trade Giannis.

I'm sure the Bucks can do better than KAT if he was made available for trade. They can also acquire a bunch of picks by trading him.
Look at all the first round picks that got traded for Mikal Bridges and Desmond Bane.

Gotta trade him before he gets a bad injury and we’re stuck holding a bag of lemons.

A conversation that hasn’t been talked about is this group isn’t the most athletic, is older and a lot of the teams we’re going against are younger and more athletic.

Brunson is more shifty than fast, Towns and Mitch are slow, Mikal has been declining a bit, OG not exactly a track star, Deuce is really the bright spot with athleticism and of course he’s only 25.

They need to make a trade to get some quicker legs.

Look at the team that’s in front of you, a trade logically needs to happen, whether it’s a smaller acquisition or a big one. Other teams have gotten better and are more athletic than the Knicks.
