So that's 2.4 million but I guess it's tax free if you truly get the 80K each year?

But I guess the dollar diminishes. If he can get a million for the card, even if they tax him, the upfront money probably has more value.

That's a nice haul but definitely not enough.

The auction is a good idea, but it'll be interesting to see what kind of offers are made vs. what it ends up being worth in 30 years.

I'd want to clear between $1.5M and $2.5M AFTER TAXES. Parents put that in a trust for Junior that he can't access until he's graduated high school + college....or even trade school. Parents should leave some out for his college, car at 16 etc.
