it's smart commercial advertising to show the small screen on the right continuing the action from the show. Smackdown started doing that when they went live a couple years ago and since then tons of other live shows have started doing it too.

think about it.... the vast majority of people are straight up ignoring commercials when they are on, but if you keep the show rolling on a small screen you are more likely to pay attention to both.
