Beat me to it. Undefeated, WBA champion, ranked #1 at 168 and winner of the super series. Ppl making this fight out to be a cherry pick is just a testament to how good Canelo is.

That lanky frame is made to be folded by a bodyshot from a guy who is specialized in that particular punch.

lol @ this still being on dazn
oscar took a L obviously but I wonder if dazn will wind up saving substantial money on this

They will, best thing that could have happened to DAZN getting out of that contract in the current climate with no crowds. They made a huge guarantee based off the expectation crowds would be in attendance. Now they can just pay Canelo for the big fights they wanna do and for anything else, wack fights or big let him go elsewhere. They've saved a HUGE amount of money from getting out of that deal that they can use elsewhere, and they haven't even completely lost Canelo from ever appearing on the platform, will fight Callum Smith there and possibly BJS and others in the future there.

You can't really argue against this fight, it's literally champion vs number 1 ranked fighter, and infact another champion. Also a guy with a significant size advantage. Can't judge Callum Smith on 1 fight vs Ryder where he wasn't motivated cause he wanted the big fights, I had the fight as a draw but for sure Callum Smith was poor for his standards and could have performed better but he's not a wack fighter at all. Canelo is the favourite but Callum Smith is potentially the best challenge at supermiddle weight he can take, and even if some would argue others there's no doubt his name is right up there in the conversation.

yea people were too hype to celebrate the demise of dazn
fukk around and getting out that deal might be the best thing to happen to the platform. With no obligation to canelo they may have gained flexibility to offer more money for the ONE fight they seem obsessed with making (ggg)

There's talks GGG vs Canelo may be in May, not sure if it's true but there's talks of that being a possibility. Another element people don't look at is DAZN is global, that's gonna be eventually a HUGE revenue stream for them. If they build up in certain markets, especially ones with a large amount of people they are gonna be caking. They will be adding a multitude of sports to their platform too. Over time they will get more rights. It ain't all about 1 country, if you can tap in to a global market with the right ish you can make mad money. They got out of a big debt not being obligated to Canelo, especially for the weaker fights, now if he fights there will probably be the good ones mostly, unless the purses are significantly reduced. Always seemed like Canelo's primary issue was with GB rather than DAZN anyway. DAZN have a lot of fighters, 1 mistake Eddie I believe made though was he should have kept Hunter. Even if he isn't gonna be a world champion at heavyweight, he still would be in mad interesting fights. I guess Hrgovic vs Hunter is looking very possible now though.
