:gucci: So you ran six miles in 115 heat? Why nikka why?
I woke up feeling off. Was probably pissed about work. Treadmill wasn't going to do it that day. Indoor track wasn't going to do it. Needed that sun. The route I run is around a high school, a rec center and a library. So at any point had I needed to grab a drink, take a piss, need a rest, it's only a quarter mile or to the next stop.

Little bodies don't work like older bodies. It was 115 last Monday and I ran 10k. I like the heat so I was good. But I'm conscious of my body. When I ran 2 days later, the same route, and it was like 102 my heart rate was too high for no apparent reason. Couldn't stabilize so after 30 mins I called it quits. Waited for the heat to drop and ran at night.
Are you training to be Batman or something? :dahell:

Imo the heat won't kill you, it's the humidity. It was dry hot. Just hot air, no clouds in the sky, heat directly to skin. I didn't think it was the bad. I know the heat is bad, but you gotta listen to your body before, during and after. You can't just go into the heat and drink water thinking it's cool, you have to hydrate well before. Like the night before. And maintain hydrated during and replenish after.

I also enjoy running long distance in the heat, you get used to it, but 107 is my limit I don't think 115 is safe breh. I once forgot to check the temperature before heading out last july and almost feel to my knees, stomach aching so bad I had to turn back, checked my phone, and it was 117:francis:

I remember stupid ass coaches making us run in the heat and denying us water because they said it made us weak. There are to many psychopaths walking among us . I hope that PE teacher dies before what would be his 13 bday, rest in power young king:salute:

I've heard so many stories like that, fukking crazy. Some people still use those sort of things as bragging rights for the 'good old days' when kids were made tougher by it or some bullshyt.

Plenty of grown adults die of heatstroke running in way less than 115 degree heat. Yeah, your body can adjust over time to a degree but why risk it? There are still some basic limits on how much heat you can shed depending on the temperature and humidity and wind.

True. Little bodies aren't able to regulate like older bodies though. I was mad when school wasn't letting the kids play at recess. They only out there for 25 minutes and obviously they can run into the school. But I get it, the school's don't want to risk it.

When I was in elementary, we could play outside or go to the library, or go to the class and play on the computer or board games. I still wish they did that for 4,5 and 6th graders. Cause they can run inside real quick or articulate when they are too hot or don't feel good.

anybody including the family member that posted the tweet not raising hell about the identities of the PE coach and staff is doing that boy a disservice and being complacent with his murder. we have heard "let the family grieve" too many times about the deaths of black children while murderers get to discretely walk off into the sunset unidentified.

enough is enough with these families being soft on child killers for real.

Because OF COURSE they are...............

Elmer's glue colored people have a long history of thinking black people are "just being dramatic" when we say we're sick, hurt or in pain. Every last one of these mf needs to be beaten to death but sadly that'll never happen.

True, but to answer your question, it doesn't seem like a risk, if you hydrate properly, make sure you got enough sodium, you should be fine. It's the people who are going out blind with no plan, that end up getting a heatstroke, I take ice water with me. I decided to run in the early morning a couple weeks ago at 90 and it felt awkward, I hate the southwest, but I learned to enjoy the heat during a workout. Difference is I know what I'm getting into, I'm not a child.
