i dont need that shyt, which is why i said I dont need anymore slave movies. maybe some non book reading, un aware of history brehs need it. but i'm good. i dont need anything else to have me in post rosewood viewing mode.

quite a few white people often say "why cant you just put that in the past" . we cant and shouldnt because thats our history. unlike many of them who can trace their ancestors back to europe we can only go as far back as the 1900s. slavery made us who we are culturally (soul food, etc) and socioeconomically to a great extent with the dissolution of the black family, among other things. thats our history and even though its tough it needs to be put out there so it wont be forgotten and so an honest conversation about race can be had, especially for those who think racism ended with slavery or the civil rights movementyou know as long and big an impact slavery had on the world it is something alot of people do not like to talk about.

i feel you i think it makes them(white people) feel demonized that there race is portrayed as the bad guys.
this movie can start a discussion.
but sadly it will prob be forgotten about after it premiers.
don't get the sentiment of not wanting to see slavery movies. Some of the greatest stories in American history are the slave narratives. We need to remind whitey about it everytime we can, and they need to be quality presentations that are as accurate as possible to show how horrible our society was and how black people contributed so much to American society.
Generations get older, so there will always be a need for there to be films to shed light on this point in our history. Nothing's original, but the lil kids growing up won't be taught some of the realities of slavery in schools like a great piece of entertainment. (whether it's a book or film)
There's a lot of slave movies but few good ones.
Lupita is a fine Nubian queen tho. 
More troubling, there isn't a single American movie on slavery qua slavery. There are films that include slavery as part of a major event like the civil war or something, but to date, there hasn't been a movie on slavery in itself. It sounds inaccurate until you think about it.
only movie i seen of his was Shame
that was well done and powerful as fukk. and i love his personality
