Cause they all planned the framing and cover stories out together to pin it on Monty. She obviously made up the part about Monty. The officer knew his son Alex did it so he went along with the cover up.
The most unbelievable part for me was that Monty conveniently was killed in his cell before he could plead his innocence. I was waiting for them to reveal they somehow set up his murder but it never came.

This season got me feeling about Bryce. Dude really fukked his life up. He tried to make amends and showed signs of being a good person but you can’t be like I’m sorry for raping you before 
I’m sorry for raping your daughter Mrs. Baker Life just don’t work like that. And it’s almost sad watching this dude realize he made his bed and would never climb out of it. On a side note...Zach redeemed himself a little bit for letting Hannah be treated the way she was back in S1 by the guys at school knowing she was essentially his girlfriend the summer before. He essentially killed her rapist. Justin still a chump. I would’ve slammed a brick in my boy’s face if he ever tried to put his hands on my girl like Bryce did. But he’s tried to redeem himself too. Just going back to Season 1 makes me not care about Bryce’s fate anymore. Dun was 17 and should’ve known better. But this season was good for the simple fact it even made you somewhat sympathize with a scumbag like him.

I don’t think they tried to redeem him. Just show he wasn’t a monster. He just did monstrous things. Life isn’t black and white. My mom’s best friend’s son murdered his girlfriend. His child’s mother. He was like an older cousin to me. Same dude used to pick me up from work and give me money as a kid. Now he’s in jail on a 40 year sentence. His mom, my mom’s friend, probably doesn’t see a murderer when she looks at her son, even though that’s what he is....really no different than Bryce’s mom. And it’s weird for me to call him that when I knew a different version of him. I think with Bryce it was done pretty well. He tried to make amends but he had made his bed and sometimes after you make horrible choices like that you don’t get a do over. Bryce thought he could just throw money at the problem and make it go away. By the time you get to the last episode he realizes he’s a rapist and will always be a rapist and he’ll always be the guy that caused a girl to kill herself because he raped her. At that point it’s probably easier just to die because you’re never escaping that.
I'm only on Ep3 and from jump it feels like Ani is police, on some 21 Jump Street.
Hell, even the cats on 21 Jump Street were more subtle in pulling information and injecting themselves into crews.
