Everybody ain't meant to be a head coach.
Exactly. Being an effective player doesn't mean you can be an effective coach, and vice-versa.
Look at Michael Jordan. He hasn't taken up coaching.

actually most are eloquent speakers....
i havent seen very many stuttering mumbling coaches at this level of basketball...especially successful coaches.
name one?
I don't care about Ewing being a media darling. So maybe he sucks at interviews and shyt.

If he knows basketball that's all that counts.
He was seemingly able to communicate instructions well enough to Yao Ming and Dwight Howard.

:coffee:

I'm not buying this "he speaks so well" shyt in comparing others to him.

being eloquent and speaking well is probably the most important thing in communication :mjlol:
communicating what you want your team to do when you want them too....
he cant motivate a team for shyt
i dont give a fukk about no meda
dont act stupid.
yao ming was already developed in china...dwight howard cant shoot a 15 footer or have more than 2 post moves(things patrick could do)....so where is patricks impact on those two players

I think Patrick Ewing has more than paid his dues and is worth at least taking a serious look at. I agree he's not the best speaker, but the guy really knows his X's and O's and would be instrumental in developing Porzingis who is a franchise player in the future.

So I know people have asked this before but has Patrick himself actually said or been quoted saying that he WANTS a head coaching job? Because maybe he is content doing what he does not everyone WANTS to be a head coach. Yeah you get paid more but it's more stress/responsibility.

Find one Charlotte fan that thinks dude can coach :coffee:

People think he should be coaching on name alone. As a promotional coach, he's got NO ONE to brag about. He can't manage games and he factually has a speech issue too. Thing is, if Clifford got axed, its Stephen Silas who's next up from our coaching staff - not Ewing.

Mike is legit looking out for him imo.

How So? Patrick is the associate head coach. And he was the one in the head seat when Cliff missed a couple of games earlier in the year.

When did Pat start getting credit for Yao's development?

Thibodeau was the one working with him.

And that was specifically because dude still wants to go looking for HC jobs. It was a favor, good will gesture, etc.

Stephen Silas, Paul Silas' son, is the guy who's been around even when our head coaching staff was getting cleaned out year after year. He's been credited by others and directly for the progression and development of Steph and Monta back with the Warriors (even more than Mark Jackson). Dude also has coached more games as the filling in hc.

Ewing had an entire run with summer league and all it did was show that he can't engage with guys at all. He's a solid one on one mentor but he's not a guy you give 15 players to and be hands off with.

If you hire him, you hire a name and a scapegoat. You're just buying yourself a year to clear cap space. Can't even develop talent.
