Not at all....I knew the ps2 and Xbox 1st gen would be a better investment...so I sold my DC for twice what I paid for it....current value of a DC now is practically less than $100

It was the best console to play games on for 2+ years breh...from 9.9.99 to at least 11.12.01

The PS2 had a weak launch lineup and the XBOX launched with HALO/PGR

PS2 had a weak lineup, BUT Madden(which was a HUGE jump) pretty much carried it early on, along with the DVD player aspect.

Plus, it came out on it's own, with no other competition. I remember ppl camping outside of Best Buy/Target to get one.

I remember I saved up like 3 paychecks my junior year in high school working in McDonalds to buy my Dreamcast. I remember I skipped going to a game I had that day for football, my coach wasn't going to put me in anyway so I was like F it and went to Kay Bee toy store

Got mine for x-mas that year along with Ready 2 Rumble Boxing and Mortal Kombat Gold. I boot up my Dreamcast emulator every once in awhile to relive the memories.

Pends on what you like. I've never been a Soul Caliber fan and all those games of that type. That's why I never bought a Dreamcast. Plus at that time, no EA Sports was a big deal for me b/c EA was still a good company back then.

- Lack of EA Games
-Lack of a good wrestling sim(wrestling was still huge)
-PS2 got GTA3& Vice City while dreamcast got a port of GTA2

This is silly. Wrestling games are not console sellers. And the dreamcast was long dead before GTA hit the scene. The PS2 was just better in all facets. The DVD drive crushed the fukking buildings. And nikkas was bootlegging every game on the dreamcast. I knew guys who didn't have a single retail copy of any game

That was the thing, you didn't have to even really hack it. Just use a boot disk and switch it out
I let my lil cousin see mine when I went to college and never saw it again But have a whole spindle of games in a Storage bin.
I remember being in toys R us and a guy was watching the Demo mode of 2k football and thought he was watching a real game until I told him it wasn't

Still got my Mastersystem, Gamegear, Genesis, Nomad, and Saturn tho
