That's quite the creative writing script you have there. But what actually happened is far different. Jimmy and Bam/Herro etc. lost to those "two elite stars" the year prior and they would have blown a 3-0 lead if not for Tatum rolling his ankle in game 7.
Just be glad Miami caught a break. They didn't capitalize on it but hey Denver was better, what can you do.

Iverson is the one guy who gets credit because the Sixers were not very good at all, Mutombo was good still but not an offensive threat and Iverson by himself took a game from the Lakers (and they played well in other games) during the peak of Shaq and Kobe.

You're bringing up Tatum's injury to excuse why the Celtics lost when the year prior Miami had multiple injuries in that series. Miami was also a missed Jimmy Butler 3 away from beating them anyway. It works both ways.

I didn't think I had to because they are role players just like Herro being out. Nobody mentions role player injuries because Tatum being hobbled 30 seconds into game 7 supersedes that and you know it.

No one ‘brags’ but it is an important feather in the hat. Bc not many HOFers DONT have a finals appearance.
But yall REALLY need to learn how to differentiate between grading all time greats vs grading ‘just’ hall of famers. When you don’t it comes off like a game of telephone passed down to casuals.
We count bron, kobe, Magic, Mike, etc rings….but no one gives a flying fukk how many rings a gary Payton, Paul piece, Ray Allen, Dominique Wilkins has. Not everyone is gonna be able to compete for top 10/20 all time. Some guys have great careers, have some great one off moments, get into the HOF and that’s that. And thats perfectly fine. Jimmy is one of those guys. He doesn’t need a ring to cement his legacy his bubble performance and the 56 point game stamped him he’s HOF anything else is gravy

We live in an era that rings matter. If you wanna be anywhere elite company you need to show some rings.
This is exactly why you need rings. Can have a hall of fame career and still don’t get the respect because you’re ringless.
Dan Marino always get brought up in conversations about great QBs but the fact that he never won a ring fukks him over.
