LOL

The thing people don't realize with these game shows it's that they are responsible for the taxes on the new car

A lot of people were calling him stupid, but taxes are high as shyt in california. Yeah he could have won the car, but he would have been paying maybe 4k-5k in taxes.

He most likely knew he could not afford the taxes and took the cash. Taxes on 1500 is cheaper than taxes on a 22000 car.

Um nah nikka. Sell the car for 22k, pay the taxes, profit 17k. There's no justification for this.

Title is a little off tho. Breh was choosing between a guaranteed $1500 and a chance at a car. Not justifying it, cuz it sounds like he would've gotten whatever he rolled ($500, $1000, whatever) so it was worth the risk lol.

You have to pay taxes up front in Cali. If you don't have that much cash on hand, I understand taking the $$$

TPIR is filmed in California. Schwartz found out the hard way that when you win prizes in the Golden State, you don't get to wait until you file your tax return to pay the taxes. If you want the prize, you pay right then and there, said Schwartz.

In an interview with Yahoo! Shine, she told reporters",Yeah, you don't just drive off the back lot with the car. After the show, you fill out some paperwork and basically sign your life away. You say that you're going to pay the taxes on it. If you win in California, you have to actually pay the California state income tax ahead of time."

True, but he may not have the 5k upfront to pay T$L.

When I was in Tulsa, the owner of the company gave my boss a truck that he won simply because he did not want to be bothered with the paperwork and and taxes.

Of course if it was me, i'm taking the car broke or not. Even if I need to take a loan to pay for the taxes
