More Marines Discharged Over Vaccine Refusal, Total at 169

23 Dec 2021
Associated Press | By LOLITA C. BALDOR

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Marine Corps discharged 66 Marines in the past week for refusing to get the coronavirus vaccine as mandated by the military, outpacing the other services at discipline related to the shots.

The latest Corps actions, which came as COVID-19 cases surged across the country as a result of the omicron variant, brought the total number of Marines booted out of the service for vaccine refusal to 169.

.....
.....
.....

The Marine Corps has been the most aggressive in discharging troops who refuse the vaccine. And it also has denied all religious requests for vaccine exemptions that have been processed. As of Thursday, 3,080 of the 3,192 requests received — or more than 96% — have been processed and rejected.

The Marine vaccination rate is the lowest among the military services. The Army, Navy and Air Force all have nearly or more than 98% who have gotten at least one shot.

The Truth
Oh, okay, I must have misread that section when applying for the CCL, and on various job applications/postings. :mjlol:

By all means then, get ousted from a uniformed service over a shot then, marine brehs.
And I must’ve never been in and seen people live just fine without it :mjlol:

Potential employers may not ask you about the type of discharge you received. They may not know to ask for your DD-214. You never want to lie when questioned about your military service, but neither do you have to volunteer information that is not requested. Be honest with employers who want details about why you left the military. Explain your mistakes and how you learned from them. If you want to put the past behind you, determination and hard work can help you get ahead despite an other-than-honorable discharge.

So if it’s only if the employer gives af… nobody cares about a CCL and thats not the only fukking job.

There are 4 other types of discharges and 2 are administrative (which is probably the worst someone would give you over a shot). The discharge types mostly effects your benefits and I’ve seen cats go full blown apeshyt, kicked out, and still keep their benefit and still work normal jobs just fine on the outside.

And since you might not believe that and don’t know wtf you’re talking about, I’m in a couple of vet certification programs now where having an honorable discharge is required BUT if you do not have one, they will be willing to work with you to get you in the program as a vet.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
I was in the marines once upon a time.

They all probably used that as an excuse to get discharged.

More than that number get discharged every year due to failed drug tests, DUI, going AWOL, not making rank, or just doing dumb shyt to get kicked out.

Anthrax used to be a big deal, and we all had to get that vaccine. Nobody questioned it. The military isn’t a democracy. From day one, you’re conditioned to follow orders, no questions asked.

This story is bullshyt.

Anyone who refuses this and is in the military are idiots. The amount of shyt that is injected in your body from the time you enlist to when you get out is huge.

Wrong hill to die on. Should be more concern about those Burn Pits they had going 24/7

That’s 0.09% of active duty marines. If you add the over 38,000 reservists, the percentage is even lower.

Like I said before I guarantee that alot or even most of this is just people using this as an excuse to break their enlistment. I would do the same honestly. Alot of people will get honorable discharges according to that law or general at the worst.

Honorable discharge is a W, especially if you were looking for a way out. I’d do it too if it was certain it was honerable. Y’all act like people really join the military to protect the country :mjlol: talm bout taking bullets for the US. Lol nikkas just wanna get paid, stop the bullshyt.

It is a perfect way to get out of your enlistment cleanly, rather than the alternative

What’s gets me is the people refusing who are so close to retirement. I would not want to risk losing benefits

You posted all of that...cool.

You don't have a general, right? :usure: I don't have a general. :skip:

So neither of us has a dog in this fight then. :unimpressed:

Thank you for pulling the information; as for the CCL, I guess that might also be state dependent. If you don't care about having one that's fine.

I'll assume then that their VA medical, veterans benefits, and retirement/TSP are also unaffected by having the lower level of discharge, right?
If not then they still played themselves.

Muhfukkas sign up for the service that prides itself on doing the most fighting with the shyttiest equipment but draw the line at a rona shot? @CouldntBeMeTho :hubie:
