Terrible news

I doubt high school sports physicals are very definitive. Even at the college level you had Mo Hurst playing thru a congenital heart defect that was unknown while he was at Michigan. Basic shyt like blood pressure and physical deformities are probably about all that’s covered in high school physicals, much the same as when I played. They aren’t out there drawing blood for lab work and giving echocardiogramsAre players not getting physicals these days?![]()
It’s usually a previously undiagnosed heart condition that is the culprit in these types of tragedies.
It’s not high level sports, dude probably had a bad heartIs it me or do we hear about this often? Is it something about high level sports that strains kids hearts and bodies out?
As athletes that should be mandatoryThis. Get your physicals done yearly. That said they don’t really check your heart so maybe that should be part of the check.
