17 year old student writes Poem "understanding" why Newton shooter pulled trigger

Context is always the most important thing. If she wrote something that was really alarming, I can understand the suspension. But if she was suspended simply because she didn't demonize the shooter, which is what this is souding like, then its ridiculous. This is what teaching should be about and it should have never gone past the teacher. She should have had a serioius talk with the girl to feel her out and then if she truly felt like the girl was psychotic, THEN go to the authorities. Otherwise, actually do some teaching and mentoring and try to understand her side of it. Everyone is better off in the end.

and not only do i have outrage about inner city crime but when im in America I volunteer as a mentor for inner city youth with the boy's n girl's club and was a Big Brother

I also worked with my church to demand more police presence in the areas that need it
and marched with my church to demonstrate that we care about that area
and part of my income goes toward programs to assist low income famlies, and educational programs
