Peace brother, your a Hebrew Israelite right? are your familiar with the GMS Israelite ? and please tell me ya'll don't subscribe to that same way of thinking.

Listen man, this is what it is. Before I go into it though, most Israelite camps don't mess with GMS like that. They are like the black sheep of Israel, even though depending on the camp, they DO have alot of knowledge regarding the scriptures and history. With that said, they aren't out here raping women, nor young girls. What they are saying is that if you go into the original Hebrew on that scripture, then the word that is used is basically means 'by force' as opposed to another way.I haven't checked on that myself, so I'm going to go off the KJV itself. Now, we don't live the way we did back in times past, but the scripture is saying if you find a woman, and she's not promised to any man nor married, you can 'take' her to be yours. Obviously if a woman becomes yours, you're going to have sex, that's a given. But this verse isn't referring to just sex, it's referring to her being claimed as yours. It's not saying 'rape' is okay. While that's what they got out of the scripture, it's not what it's saying. Let's look at the verses

28 If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;

29 Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his day

This is the verse that is telling us that a man has to marry the woman after they have sex because nobody is going to want her after that, and he can't leave her for a frivolous reason. To back up the fact rape is not permissible, a few verses up tells us this.

25 But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die:

26 But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:
See? In this verse, if a man forced a woman to have sex and she's attached to someone, the man has to die and the woman is innocent. Notice the word force in verse 25 and not in 28. Verse 28 is her agreeing to the sex essentially. If she's with somebody and she willingly has sex with someone else, they BOTH must die. Now, some people might say, well maybe 28 is referring to forcing her and it's okay because she's not with anybody, but it's really just talking about taking her virginity and her being down with it. I see how they can gather that from the scriptures, but that's off and most Israelites don't condone that line of thinking. Either way, they aren't saying to go out and rape anyone, and especially in today's society.

But let's look at it another way. Let's say verse 28 IS referring to rape. The Bible damn sure isn't 'condoning' it, which is the reason he has to pay her father and marry her. The age thing that Polight was trying to push to demonize them is BS because people were getting married off and having kids not long after the female having their period, and this was NORMAL PRACTICE. Don't let the way society is todaycloud your vision of what's necessarily right or wrong. Physically, men and women are ready for sex at puberty, which is around the age of 12. It's ALWAYS been this way. Proof of this:

1 Corinthians 7:36

36 But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry.

Why would you follow some out dated laws from a different country that were written like 1500 years ago...I don't get that..

Because society changes ...why would I tell women not to vote now because it was a law before the 1920s?

Truthfully, none of what you're saying really has any bearing here because those are man-made laws, not laws ordained by God which is what you're supposed to follow. Those verses tell the Israelites what to do if a situation arises, not that this is what you should be doing in general. Society tells us that so-called polygamy is wrong, when in ancient times, we can have many wives. What man wouldn't want that? Everything that was set up a certain way was because it was righteous. It's this society that wickedness is running rampant.
