nikkas are just having a stan fest in here. Thats all this is
Plus someone being perfect is someone being elite if not the best/top 5-10 at the least in everything. And none of the nikkas named in here(Pac, Nas, Big, etc) are all that.
This thread would be on point.
if the time period said the date of zebra head twelve.
to the release point of illmatic.
till the one love twelve inch.
I could easily say.
yes.
nas superceded any new culture based and misappropriation based signed label artis. Plus ushered in the technical revolution era in rap moving forward in that sonic landscape era.
then, we would accurrately be at the right summation of what illmatic and nasty nas was.
this whole try to revise history for sellout shyt is dead.
any nikka trying to revise a sellout,..chu bogus.
go sit down somewhere.
the real not goin...
I hear you.
I still say Biggie tho.
Question,
Being that you know the standard in hip hop totally changed from what they were doing in the late 70's/early 80's to what was being done in the 90's...What u call selling out...I call transitioning with the times. U had people like Suge and Puffy who u consider gatekeepers that pollutted the culture.....but these guys were on some "we saw how ya'll did the rappers in the 80's and we not getting jerked anymore" shyt, We doing the jerking if anything. Star once said he saw Melly Mel in a construction uniform taking a train in the late 80's and wondered to himself.."Damn, the game didnt make him rich? He has to do a 9 to 5?" Did u really expect the standard to stay the same for decades to come? Did u really expect the up and comers to look at Melly Mel and say "I wanna go out like Melly Mel making classic records but still having to work a 9 to 5?" u really expected an up and comer to look at Puffy lounging in Mansions and say "Naa....I wanna keep it b boy and end up doing a 9 to 5 like Melly Mel"? You really expect some poor kid in the ghetto to ignore Master Ps 70% deal and P flossing his mansions on MTV Cribs and say "Naa...I dont want that.....I wanna sell records that dont even go gold like G Rap all for the sake of keeping up an early 80's standard that no one really cares about except for acknowledgment in barbershop talk?"
when nas souled't out.
that is when this started.
melle to puff and badboy were all mca way based artistry.
which was already outlawed and only existed in that era from being a segueway ol school way of thought based production company.
which was from an absorbed indie.
that was then relabeled into the main what would become the ideal for urban gateway production company style label.
puff may have pulled a revision based soft coup between being fired at mca.
transistioning to arista via his whole big mac marketing meeting with arista's clive owen.
yet and still.
puff brought the mca way based way.
further into play and in that administratively screws the artistry and culture by simple design.
design outlawed in the new school way of thought distinctly.
in that you can not excuse melle mel. as he did it to himself in arrogance.
arrogance on two fronts in business with sugar hill being a subsidiary of the mca way.
plus and in artistry as an emcee.
when offering his neck up every night and got served from his own arrogance and volition.
so trying to even make it like i have some affinity for them.
in any way that supercedes culturally past the facts.
i will not do.
as both created and perpetrated the corrosion we now deal with today.
in both ways of thought.
plus in puff case this is a house duck ass nikka in the mecca.
this is not a bboy with a pillar.
so nikkaz taking or listening.
to some toy's agentry on any issue is in cultural violation.
all this post great recession apologist revisionist shyt.
is just toys trying to campaign for positions they been deaded from never being.
or being sellouts during.
the shyt dead.
the collective who keep trying that shyt.
just showing the toys they always were.
the real never going and never was going and still not going on that sellout toy duck shyt.
art barr
nikkaz toys and ducks out here trying to play cultural.
stop it.
no one in the real is fooled.
we know your culture card and it say souled't out..
you dead out here.
