I wasnt there but the old heads say that team was as talented as '01 team and was Jimmy's guys.. Coming off that undefeated season that ended with fiesta bowl loss they were on mission that season.. Only that fsu team scored over 20 on them all season. Gave up 125 all season while playing some tough teams #20 UF, #10 @Arky, #4 @fsu, #10 ND, #8 S. Carolina, #1 Okla

We were already done as a program by time we got to ACC. The school was still going off old gameplan while cfb was changing before our eyes.. They thought they could be cheap and were entitled to local talent to stay home.. They didnt invest in program from infrastructure, hiring coaches off failed staffs to be cheap, even the idea of joining the ACC was to be able to reap reward but not pour back in program..ACC was supposed to be the All Canes Conference
They only got serious recently when Kirk put them on blast nationally
.. And Mario literally got the backing of billionaires in his family (multiple ways).. He has warts but he recruits his a$$ off, fukked around and got a QB too.. He dont bring any schematic advantage but stocking the talent has worked to get you wins in cfb for a looooong time.
