1996 - The GOAT year for Rap

Just finished reading Big Ghostss' post about the 20th aniv. of Atliens and it hit me : 1996 was the year for rap music.

Every panel in those screenshots have a classic or at least a solid album.

What was it? The Illuminati forgot to give us meds in '96? The gov forgot to put chloryne in our water? The dopeboyz serving some next level ish?

I cant put my finger on it but in '96 the bar was hella high and since then it got lowered so much that if you arent paying attention you might trip on it.

that was when rap releases dropped in quality globally.
including the lull from the coming in january till april and the overly delayed resurrection twelve.
