I attended the Nik in 96, 97 and 99. All while in high school. I had an uncle that was at GTech and a cuz in Morehouse the first 2 years and my nikka went to Clark for the 99 one so I stayed wit him. As a young nikka from Jersey, I gotta admit that the shyt was live as fukk. U wanna talk about nikkas on the street wylin. I got hit by a car wit all bytches in it cuz nikkas started mobbin on'em cuz the bytch in the back decided to rock a shear see thru to the streets of Atl. Got laid a couple times by some college chicks, got hella drunk, even snuck in some clubs and got twisted. Freaknik made me decide to attend Clark for college. It was still semi live in the later years.

Went to the one in 96 and 97..them nikkas was MOBBIN out of control. I remember a pack of broads was rolling around in one of them VW Cabrio convertibles and them nikkas tore the damn top trying to get them out the car.

You gonna have to ask the breh @THE RETIRED SKJ on that one my Carolina brethren. I was still right below the threshold when Freaknik was really popping. Old enough to know to know what was going on, but not quite there yet to really get out there.
Freaknik was one of the reasons my Mom left the A. She never liked it here, she was always one of them transplants who stayed talking shyt about the city. Mid to late 90’s when Freaknik was popping was the same time the folks split up. She gave it a try for a few years after that but after being stuck in one of them 3-4 hour traffic jams with pure fuccery all around you, she was like nah, I don’t want to live in a city where this is going on. Thats pretty much my only Freaknik memory, being in the car with her stuck cuz brehs done turned a regular street into a block party and she telling me to cover my eyes while she in the front like “I hate this place”
